Why our Pub is great
The Old Duke is named in honour of William Sutton, also known as the Old Duke, who founded Southport in 1792. A landlord himself, Sutton often entertained his customers by playing the fiddle.
Although a fiddle may not be a regular feature at The Old Duke, the pub will be serving mouth-watering food straight from the grill. Not only this, it also offers classic pub favourites from steak and ale pie to beer battered fish and chips, perfect to eat in a seaside town! For younger visitors, there is also a children’s menu that’ll please even the fussiest kids.
For those warm summer evenings, The Old Duke has a beer garden which is ideal for enjoying a nice cold pint.
Whether you and your mates are looking to kick-back and enjoy a fantastic steak and glass of red, or a family looking to get together for a weekend celebration, The Old Duke is the place to do it!
About Our Food
You’ll find just what you want to on the menu, from tender grills to fresh stonebaked pizzas and comforting pub classics. Begin with generous sharer platters, and then choose from an irresistible array of goodies. We’re fussy about our food. It has to be spot on. Steaks are masterfully chargrilled, served with our signature sauce, and complimented by sides specifically designed to bring out their succulence and slightly sweet, smoky flavour. Large stonebaked pizzas are always made to order and come just the way you want. Pub classics so heart-warming you’ll be tempted to have them again and again!
We know sharing good food and drink with friends and family makes an ok day extra special…that’s what it means when we bring you all the things you love and more.
